IC Top Athletes
Senior Candace Norville of Batavia will receive the Doris Hopper award, and senior Michael Jennings of Fort Madison, Iowa will get the William Downer Award. This is the 2nd time that Norville has received the award. She also was named winner of the award her sophomore year. Norville has lettered in indoor and outdoor track and field, tennis, basketball and soccer. She is on target to become the top letter winner in women’s sports history at the college. Norville owns the multiple records in track at IC, and last spring became the school’s first All American track and field athlete since 1989. Jennings was named to the 2008 AP Little All America football team after his junior year. He holds multiple school records for receiving. The awards will be presented to the winners at halftime of the IC-Grinnell game at the Bruner Fitness Center next Saturday.
