Pancake Day nets 'batter' funds than 2009

The Kiwanis Club’s 61st annual Pancake and Sausage Day brought in 6,000 people to MacMurray College’s McClelland Dining Hall at last count. The all-you-can-eat event ran from 6:00 this morning to 8:00 tonight, and the near $30,000 in proceeds go back to the community. Nearly 1,300 people also used the event’s drive up service at Routt Catholic High School.
Kiwanis Club member and Morgan County Sheriff Randy Duvendack says the nature of the event doesn’t make it difficult to get eaters.

Several committees within the Kiwanis Club will decide how to divvy up the funds. It’s estimated that the organization uses 300 gallons of milk, 55 cases of pancake batter, 8,000 cups, 10,000 plates and 90 gallons of syrup at the event.
Bogart’s owner Brad Fellhauer was this year’s Mr. Pancake.
