| Newest High School FB Polls |
| Tuesday, September 2, 2008 |
| Jacksonville has crept up a spot in the latest high school football poll.
The Crimsons are rated 3rd in Class 5-A, up one slot from last week's pre season poll.
Jacksonville follows Marian Central Catholic and Metamora in the latest poll.
The Crimsons will get a severe test Friday night in a home game with Sacred Heart Griffin. SHG is rated 5th in 6-A, dropping a spot after losing to Lombard Montini last weekend.
Routt is rated 9th in the latest 1-A poll, where Greenfield remains number 3, and Brown County is 10th. Pleasant Hill also received votes, but there is no mention of Triopia Meredosia among 1-A teams.
Another team getting votes from the area includes Auburn at number 5 in 2-A.
WEAI will broadcast two games Friday night, starting with the JHS Sacred Heart Griffin match up, followed by North Greene and Virginia AC Central. |

| IC FB Practice Underway |
| Wednesday, August 20, 2008 |
| Illinois College is a week into football practice under the new Blueboys head coach.
Garrett Campbell took over for Aaron Keen this season. Keen left the school in March of this year to become offensive coordinator at the University of Nebraska at Omaha after 5 years at IC.
Campbell comes to IC after coaching at Carthage College in Wisconsin. He was the offensive coordinator there.
Campbell brought in 87 players last week when practice began. They included 47 lettermen.
The team opens at home September 6th against Millikin.

| Volleyball Post Season Sites |
| Wednesday, July 30, 2008 |
| The Illinois High School Association has identified post season tournament sites for volleyball.
Liberty, Meredosia, New Berlin and Virden have been awarded Class 1-A volleyball tournaments. The regionals will feed into the AC Central sectional.
At the Class 2-A level, Beardstown, Pittsfield and Pleasant Plains have been awarded regional tournaments, and will feed into the Camp Point sectional.
And, Class 3-A regional tournaments will be at Lincoln, Springfield High and Taylorville. The sectional site is Mount Zion.
The Illinois High School Association opted to return to regional, and sectional play this year in a number of sports, including volleyball to offset the high cost of fuel.
