| Chili | Date: Wednesday, June 1, 2009 |
- 1 lb ground beef or deer burger
- 1 lrg onion
- 1 lrg green pepper, optional if using stewed tomatoes
- 1 (16 oz) can kidney beans, rinsed and drained
- 1 (15 oz) can tomato sauce
- 1 (14 1/2 oz) tomatoes, deice and undrained or stewed tomatoes (diced)
- 1 (4 oz) chopped green chille, undrained (optional)
- 2 tsps or more (to taste) chili powder
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp ground cumin (optional)
- 1/2 to 1 tsp sugar
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder

| In a large soup pot or dutch oven. Cook beef or deer meat over medium heat with onion and green pepper until meat is no longer pink...Drain. Add remaining ingredients...bring to a boil, stirring occasionally. Reduce heat, cover and simmer for 25 to 30 minutes...or longer. |
